The Meerkats

Meerkats are fearless creatures, known for taking on enemies far more dangerous than themselves - and succeeding against them!

We are proud to have these wily and brave creatures as our mascots and our insipiration.
 

Howard Griffiths, Managing Director

Howard Griffiths has been actively involved in the South African security industry for over 20 years, and has been personally involved in some of the company’s largest cases. These include investigations into cases involving grand fraud, industrial espionage, and counter intelligence and surveillance.

A graduate of the South African Institute of Security (SAIS), he was also past chairman of the Gauteng Branch of the South African Security Association, where he sat on SASA’s National Council, and he is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, South African Chapter.

Lionel Strong, General Manager

Lionel has had an illustrious career in both the South African Police Services and the Private Security Industry. Lionel was appointed to handle the integration of the ANC and IFP Self Defence Units into the police services. He was also tasked with handling police investigations into politically motivated criminal activity throughout the country as well as the notorious taxi industries violence.

This larger than life man has made his mark on the security industry and is a well liked and respected member of this community. In 2009 he was elected as Chairman of the Gauteng Branch of the Security Association of South Africa.

Hayley Makhanya, CCTV Security Data Coordinator

Hayley is in charge of managing the CCTV control room operators and security officers. She liaises with clients and manages the Meerkat data system. In addition, Hayley performs lie detection testing.

Hayley is the first South African black woman to be qualified to use the state of the art voice stress analysis system that SSC employs for lie detection.

Yolanda Malatji, Senior Consultant for Workforce Intelligence

Yolanda handles everything to do with undercover operations: briefing and de-briefing of agents, sourcing undercover operatives and liaising with clients.
